Saint Jude Green Crystal Rosary
Prayer to Saint Jude

Oh glorious apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered thy beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused thee to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes thee universally as the patron of hopeless cases--of things despaired of. Pray for me who am so miserable; make use, I implore thee, of that particular privilege accorded thee of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly (mention your request), and that I may bless God with thee and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise thee, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor thee as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to thee. Amen
Saint Jude rosary

Saint Jude, known as Thaddaeus, was a brother of Saint James the Less, and a relative of Jesus. He was one of the 12 Apostles, but should not be confused with Judas Iscariot, the apostle who betrayed Our Lord.

It is said that Saint Jude preached the Gospel in Judea, Samaria, Idumaea, Syria, Mesopotamia, and Lybia and returned to Jerusalem in the year 62. There he assisted at the election of his brother, Saint Simeon, as Bishop of Jerusalem.

He was the author of an epistle to the Churches of the East, particularly the Jewish converts, directed against the heresies of the Simonians, Nicolaites, and Gnostics. Belief is that Saint Jude suffered martyrdom in Armenia, which was then subject to Persia.

Jude was the apostle who asked Jesus, at the Last Supper, why He would not manifest Himself to the whole world after His resurrection. Little else is known of his life. Legend claims that he visited Beirut and Edessa and was possibly martyred with Saint Simon in Persia.

Saint Jude is called upon in despairing situations.

his New Testament letter stressed that the faithful should persevere in the environment of harsh and difficult circumstances, just as their forefathers had done before them.
For this reason, he is the patron saint of desperate cases.

Saint Jude is often shown in drawings and icons, holding an image of Jesus in one hand and a club in the other. The club is a symbol of his martyrdom. Often the Holy Spirit is seen over his head as a tongue of fire.  This is representative of Pentecost when He came upon the apostles.

This rosary is offered as a testament to Saint Jude‘s intercession, and in gratitude for prayers answered.

Saint Jude is usually depicted wearing green. For this reason, rosaries and chaplets in his honor are traditionally made using green beads.
